June 11, 2026, Thursday.

I woke up at 8 a.m. and did ten minutes of bodyweight exercises, followed by ten minutes of meditation. On my way to school, I kept a relaxed pace, using the time to finish my Duolingo English lesson and listen to the interview between Jensen Huang and Lex Fridman.

I arrived at school a few minutes late and immediately joined the group meeting. I reported on my recent progress; things were moving a bit slowly, but my advisor, Adam, didn’t say much. After the other students took turns reporting, we took a short break to discuss how to celebrate Adam getting a new project. Then, my colleague Pablo gave his report. His presentation today was smooth and impressive—I really appreciated it.

After the meeting, we headed to the Computer Science building for lunch. The food was pretty average. On the way, Nan mentioned again her plan to go to Taiwan, and we also started thinking about whether we should travel to Japan in October for a conference.

Back in the office, we continued the physical training from the previous day. Every half hour, Pablo and I did push-ups and planks. I felt like I was getting really strong. I don’t know how many half-hours passed, but another colleague, Farzin, joined our workout. We’d said we’d train hard so we could beat him in an arm-wrestling match someday. He joked that if he joined our training, we’d never catch up to him. The scene was quite funny.

For lunch, I shared my thoughts on Vibe Coding with Farzin. He thought it was simple, which was great.

After the afternoon session, I went home with my colleague Cao Nan. Since it’s Thursday, I’m trying to treat Thursday nights as the start of weekend prep. Once home, I first sorted through my dirty clothes, then started cooking. As soon as I turned on the rice cooker, I tidied up the room, took the dirty clothes downstairs to wash them, and took a shower. After cleaning the room, the rice was almost ready, and I quickly finished preparing the dishes.

While eating, I watched a stand-up comedy clip. Later, once most of the clothes were washed, I went out to take out the trash and pick up my package. Inside was the fan I’d ordered earlier on AliExpress, to help deal with the heat that might be coming soon.

Back home, I continued my 1,000-hour plan by practicing reading aloud to gradually turn the language I think in into English. Jensen Huang mentioned in the interview that people nowadays need to master how to use AI. Inspired by that, I kept experimenting with Vibe Coding and updated my diary-writing method: instead of typing it out by hand like before, I’m now recording my entries by speaking. I’m currently testing this new tool and hope it works out smoothly.
