Yesterday was a summer night. I invited my friend Nan over for dinner, and afterward, we played tennis. We came home quite late.
Today, I stayed at home and spent the day revising one figure in my thesis. I feel my efficiency has been low lately—I can only manage to fix one figure per day. Although AI is helpful, it hasn’t made my work any easier; the workload remains heavy, and I’m still staying up very late.
In the evening, I felt the day wasn’t particularly exciting, yet I couldn’t bring myself to sleep. Fortunately, I can quickly write down what I’m doing, which at least helps me organize my thoughts.
The last couple of days have coincided with the Dragon Boat Festival. We made century eggs and some Sichuan specialties. We ate quite well. Thanks to Nan for bringing us so many delicious things, including preserved vegetables and sausages.
The weather has been a bit hot, so I installed a fan, and it’s working well.
This is just my typical day. Doing these things feels boring and meaningless to me. I worry I can’t keep going this way. I often find myself running around in a tug-of-war with reviewers, trying to please them, which doesn’t feel comfortable at all. I want to do things my own way. Maybe I really can’t continue with research.
