I got up at eight this morning and started the day with ten minutes of bodyweight training followed by ten minutes of meditation. I then took the bus to school. During the ride, I completed my daily Duolingo lesson and listened to an interview between Jensen Huang and Lex Fridman. I arrived at school a few minutes late, but I did not feel rushed.

The morning was mostly taken up by our group meeting. I gave an update on my recent work, which has been progressing rather slowly. My supervisor, Adam, did not say much about it. After everyone had presented, we took a short break and discussed how we might celebrate Adam’s newly funded project.

Pablo then gave his presentation. He spoke smoothly and did an excellent job, which I really appreciated. Afterward, we happily headed to the Computer Science Building for lunch. The food was fairly ordinary, and I cannot even remember exactly what I ate. On the way there, Nan talked about a plan to visit Taiwan, which led us to consider whether we should attend a conference in Japan this October.

Back at the office, Pablo and I continued the exercise routine we had started the day before. Every half hour, we did push-ups and planks together. At some point, our colleague Farzin joined us. We had joked that we were training so that we could eventually beat him at arm wrestling, but he said that if he trained with us, we would never catch up. I found that quite funny.

I also showed Farzin my approach to vibe coding. He thought it looked simple and easy to follow, which was encouraging.

In the afternoon, I went home with my colleague Cao Nan. Since it was Thursday, I tried treating the evening as the beginning of my weekend preparations. As soon as I got home, I sorted out my dirty clothes and started cooking rice, since that would take the longest. While it was cooking, I took my laundry downstairs, had a shower, and cleaned my room.

By the time I finished cleaning, the rice was nearly ready, so I quickly cooked the rest of dinner. I watched some stand-up comedy while eating. While the laundry was running, I took out the rubbish and collected a package containing a fan I had ordered from AliExpress. I bought it in advance because the weather may become warmer soon, and I spent some time setting it up.

Later, I continued listening to Jensen Huang and reading English aloud as part of my one-thousand-hour plan to gradually shift the language of my thoughts into English. Jensen also talked about the importance of learning how to use AI well, which inspired me to do some more vibe coding.

That led me to update the way I keep my diary. Until now, I had typed each entry by hand. From today onward, I want to try recording my thoughts in Chinese and using this new tool to turn them into a polished English diary entry. This entry is my first real test of that workflow, and I hope it works well.
